Never underestimate the power of a shower curtain. You may be stuck with a bathroom that at first glance looks like it was left in the 1960’s, but with the introduction of a mod curtain can be brought into the present in a snap. Then there is the situation where the tub, toilet and cabinets are of a dark colour, and seem to weigh the whole space down. This can be combated with a light and airy curtain, one made of cotton poplin is a good choice. The goal is to bring in a sheer, lightweight element to balance things out. Or perhaps you have floor tiles that at first blush seem a shocking colour, but if you bring in a glorious floral, or striped curtain that only has a sparse amount of that tile colour then you can simultaneously match and play the shade down. The shower curtain is probably the most cost efficient, and effective way to change the appearance of bathroom. Oh yeah, not to mention the easiest too, so do not forget about its power when you are faced with a decorating dilemma in an out-dated, or crazy coloured bath.
